Insert Really Great Title Here

I always have such a hard time naming these posts.  🙂

Whew, what a day!!!

I had a very interesting little episode in a public parking lot today when my van overheated, making a very scary sound and causing smoke to come pouring out of the floorboard.  If anyone saw me, I’m sure they got a kick out of the woman leaping out of her van, tearing across the parking lot (sure the van was going to explode), remembering that her CAMERA was still in the van, tearing back across the parking lot, risking life and limb to retrieve it, and making a mad dash to the other side again.

I’m happy to say that me and my camera are both safe.  A bit humiliated, but safe. 🙂

Thankfully I was able to borrow my moms car to make it to my session (with a wonderful couple who were extremely gracious about the fact that I was over an hour late) and a very good friend of mine was willing to come out in the snow to pick me up and take me back home.

And speaking of my session, have I mentioned lately how much I love my job?  Everything about today’s session was absolutely wonderful.  From the very beginning, Baby’s mom and dad went out of their way to show kindness to me, even opening the garage so that I could park there (I’m pretty sure they moved one of their cars into the street so that I could do that) and even feeding me lunch.  Things like that are always a reminder to me of how much little things matter, and really inspire me to find little things that I can do for others that I encounter on a day-to-day basis.

Mr and Mrs. “S,” thank you for your hospitality and for making me feel welcomed in your home!  Here is a sneak peek of your beautiful baby…

She’s got such delicate features, she reminds me so much of a beautiful porcelain doll.

This next one is my absolute favorite.  Special thanks to Patty (Baby’s Grandma, who was sitting off to the right, “spotting” the baby), for helping with this one!

It’s so nice to have a Grandma around to help, she was able to get Baby to sleep after each bottle, and helped me position her when it was time to take the pictures.  It was really a blessing to have her there!

And I know when I post this next one, everyone is going to tell me what a great idea it was, and I have to agree!  Although I’d love to take the credit for it, it wasn’t my idea.  I love creative clients…

I do love that hand shot. I think it should go into your standard repertoire. And I’m glad everything worked out with your van emergency.

I do, too! I’ve been thinking of all kinds of different ways that one could be done (with mom and dad’s hands, shaping the hands into hearts, siblings holding baby’s hands, etc.) I’m telling you, some of my best ideas aren’t “my” ideas at all! 🙂
